Laugh Online..It's all very well being made to laugh. But it's as good for us to make others laugh. This is your chance. Tell us your jokes, send us a picture, write us a poem (and enter the comic verse competion - Big Prizes for the Winners and your poem in the book for the runners up...) |
|
We plan on running a series of competions over the year - favourite new football chants, comedy quizes (and any suggestions you have) Register as a Friend and we'll keep you posted.
We know that people like the Off the Wall Comic Verse Competion - really like it. They've entered it in droves in the last three years..... So we start with this..... |
Off the Wall Comic Verse Competion 2005....
This will be launched at the Open Event at Exeter Phoenix on Saturday 15th October. Hosted by Matt Harvey and Steve Parks (winner of the last competition).
What do we mean by Comic Verse? We’re not sure but we’ll recognise it when we see it - then we’ll put the ones we like best into an anthology. If you want to know what went down well last year send £6 to the address below for a copies of the Off the Wall Comic Verse Anthology 2002 and 2003.
Style-wise anything goes, from free verse, through doggerel, to subtle sonnets and elegant villanelles. We’re not looking for a belly laugh with every entry. Sometimes a smile can be enough, a chortle, a groan or grimace. You might just baffle us or make us blush. Your poems can be funny ha ha, funny peculiar or funny ouch. They can be dry, dark, droll, dirty or deliberately obscure. Your sense of humour may be cynical, satirical, sly, acerbic, subtle, scatological or just plain silly.
Have a look at some of the best of the last two competitions....
